This app is good and getting better. It is poised to remain the leading app in this domain. It works great at what it does, so far. Anyone interested in quantified self should try this app and keep taps on its development.
But... Well, there is nor but. Though I have some feature requests. Please seriously consider these.
1. The coolest thing: Voice integration. All the tapping and menu navigation is less than desirable and is burdensome. Id like to be able to open the app, hit the microphone button, and have it go like this: "done studying," "what quality of focus," "fifty percent," "what is your mood," "70 percent" etc. Just text to speech Q&A. God, this would be so awesome sauce.
2. An iPad version. PLEASE. Just create a layout for it. Lots of people have iPads. This must be in the pipeline right? How doesnt it exist already? Im looking forward to this one a lot. It doesnt have to be anything fancy.
4. Prospective vs. retrospective data. Like (a) how long one intends to spend doing something like reading blogs, vs how one actually takes; (b) When one intended to do something vs. when it was actually started; (c) day activity plans vs. day activity outcomes, etc. Even without any special analytical approach attached, it would be nice to have this data and notice trends and disparities.
Related: calendar integration might be nice, like reading when someone has scheduled meetings, classes or study sessions, etc.
4. Last and perhaps least, I dont see why we must have only 4 kinds of activities. I get it: simplicity is a virtue, and its great to serve up an awesome starting structure to guide usage right away. But why not let the user customize main activity categories? As in, how many, their color, their names, and their component activities. Like, it would be nice to separate, for me, university work and job work, or have separate categories for sleep and exercise. Or a category for time spent on what one considers vices, like excessive cleaning or Facebook time (or whatever).
Anyway, thats my wish-list. Keep up the great work!
